The brand has tapped the twenty-year-old Hollywood star and activist as its newest face. Here’s what you need to know about her.
In what’s already been a bumper year for Fenty Beauty, with its first skincare launch and another hotly anticipated summer collection, the brand still has more to announce – namely, Amandla Stenberg as a new ambassador.
Stenberg, who has starred in The Hunger Games, The Hate U Give and The Darkest Minds recently appeared on the cover of Time as a “Next Generation Leader”. She’s also been a vocal activist and spoken about topics such as sexual identity, intersectional feminism, and biracial identity, while her famous “Don’t Cash Crop On My Cornrows” video essay is a powerful statement about cultural appropriation, which the actor made at just sixteen.
Stenberg broke the news on her Intstagram, adding in a release, “I wanted to become a part of the Fenty Family because it’s one of the few beauty brands that make me feel like myself! Fenty Beauty’s whole ethos makes me feel empowered and excited to let different facets of myself shine.”
Paloma Elsesser, Halima Aden, Duckie Thot, Leomie Anderson and Slick Woods have all starred in campaigns for the brand before, and if you’ve not watched Woods’ beauty tutorial yet, we’d advise you to rectify that immediately.
Stenberg is already a beauty icon and never fails to impress with her hair and make-up, so we’re excited to see the new campaigns and inspiration this new collaboration may bring.
